The style was high in the Heritage Hotel last week at the LOETB Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre Graduation Ceremony for 2018.

Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre was established in 2003.

The Centre is dedicated to providing adults with further or second chance education and training opportunities. A broad range of provisions are provided.

Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre provides a range of QQI certified morning and afternoon classes to adults who wish to return to education on a part-time or full-time under the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS).

At the awards ceremony last Thursday, over 120 students graduated and received awards from a range of courses.

These included Early Childhood Care and Education, Return to Learning with Office Skills, Healthcare Support, Office Administration and Accounting Technicians.

Student of the Year awards were also presented for each of the Level 4 and Level 5 courses.

FET Centre Manager Margaret Morrin was delighted with the evening and paid tribute to the graduates.

She said: “Each and everyone of them worked tirelessly throughout the academic year to achieve their goals and we are delighted for them.

“Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre is going from strength to strength and the calibre of the pupils graduating is clear for all to see.”

Julie Anne Miller went along on the evening and she captured some great pictures.
