Raheen Vintage Club celebrates 10th birthday with run to help Laois Alzheimer’s Society this year

All roads lead to Raheen on Sunday, April 14 for their highly anticipated annual Vintage Road Run.

Vintage cars, vintage and modern tractors, motorbikes and lorries are welcome on the day.

Raheen Vintage Club was established in 2009 and are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year.

Each year they hold several events such as vintage runs, ploughing day or a Vintage Show for different charities. This run in aid of the Laois Alzheimer’s Society kicks off the year as their  first event of 2019.

Reigstration is from 11am in Colt GAA Grounds and they are departing at 12.30pm sharp.

Chairperson Chris Goode is hoping for a high number of vehicles to take part, as in line with previous years.

Registration is €20 on the day.

Laois Alzheimer’s Society Resource Centre at 47 Main Street Portlaoise is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

They provide support for families dealing with dementia in their Support Group on the third Wednesday of every month in the Resource Centre from 7.30-9pm.

Laois Alzheimer’s Society also host a social club on second and fourth Thursday of every month.

Through fundraising they provide respite beds in Waterman’s Lodge Respite Care Centre in Killaloe
