Bus service from Roscrea to Portlaoise begins tomorrow

Great news for Laois commuters as the Local Link Laois-Offaly new bus service between Roscrea and Portlaoise begins tomorrow, Thursday April 18.

Earlier this month the news broke that the JJ Kavanagh’s bus route from Dublin to Limerick serving Borris-in-Ossory, Mountrath and Castletown would no longer stop and collect from these locations.

It was revealed that they would stop servicing Borris-in-Ossory, Castletown and Mountrath.

However good news has come since this announcement.

Local link Laois-Offaly now have a new bus service will operate between the towns and villages of Roscrea, Borris-in-Ossory, Pike of Rushall, Castletown. Mountrath and Portlaoise.

The bus route, known as the 834, will travel three times a day from Roscrea to Portlaoise and vice-versa.

It travels seven days a week, beginning from Roscrea at 8am and Portlaoise at 9.30am weekdays.

The last bus to leave Portlaoise starts from Kilminchy at 6.10pm with three other stops throughout the town.
