WATCH: Laois GAA club donates two sets of jerseys to school pupils in Uganda

What an incredible act of kindness and compassion this is.

Last week Shanahoe GAA club donated two sets of past jerseys to a Ugandan secondary school students and to an atheltics club who had all their gear burned in a fire.

Mary Dunphy visited Uganda last week to help deliver badly needed resources and build much-needed wells in the area.

Mary, mother of Shanahoe player Paddy O’Toole, brought two sets of jerseys kindly donated by the club out with her to the area.

The first set of jerseys went to a school who saw their previous gear go up in flames during a fire a few months ago.

They were lamenting that the children were due to attend an athletics district competition and had no gear when Shanahoe GAA came to the rescue.

The jerseys were produced on a Wednesday and that Friday saw children aged between nine to 15 years old winning the competition outright while donning the Seanchúa.

The second set of jerseys were destined for secondary pupils who will use them for their soccer team.

all schools are extremely grateful for the kindness of the club.it was a memorable experience to see those kids running about in the shanahoe colours..
