Saturday 18 and Sunday May 19 marks a huge weekend for the Laois LGFA as 12 teams are out in action across the senior, intermediate and junior division.

In the senior division, St Brigid’s take on county champions Sarsfields while Timahoe and Portlaoise will clash in Rathleague.

Last year’s finalists Portlaoise lost out to Sarsfields for the third year in a row and although there was plenty of hurt after the meeting in September, they have plenty of youth and county champions from underage now coming up along the ranks.

Portlaoise face off against Timahoe in Rathleague, Portlaoise, on Sunday May 19 at 7pm.

Both teams are in group B – with the rest of the championship meetings going as follows:

Group B: Shanahoe, Portlaoise and Timahoe

Round 1: Sunday May 19
Portlaoise v Timahoe

Round 2: Sunday 23 or Sunday 30 June
Portlaoise v Shanahoe

Round 3: Sunday August 11

Semi-final: Sunday August 25
