RTE presenter set to give talk on sustainable farming in Laois

RTE presenter Duncan Stewart will be in Laois tomorrow night to give a talk on “The Future of Sustainable Farming in Laois”.

The talk, on Friday October 11, takes place at Bloom HQ in the Convent Mountrath.

Noel Gavigan, Pat Costelloe and Damien Nee will also speak at the event which takes place from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

According to Agriland, Stewart will discuss the topic of sustainable farming; in addition, Noel Gavigan – executive officer for the Irish Bioenergy Association (IrBEA) – will talk about biogas, wood energy and feed in tariffs.

Pat Costello will comment on the biogas industry, while Damien Nee will cover farming and the circular economy.

The night will be free to attend and all farmers and rural dwellers are welcome to come along, according to organisers.
