O’ CONNELL, Sr. Claire Marie (Newbridge, Co. Kildare and formally of Rathdowney, Co. Laois) – 17th October 2019 (peacefully) at Naas Hospital. Deeply regretted by her sister Sr. Margaret, Holy Family Convent, her brothers Anthony, Bobby and Billy, sisters-in law, extended family and friends, her community and caring staff at the Convent.

Reposing on Friday (18th October 2019) in the Holy Family Convent Chapel, Naas Road, Newbridge from 6.30 o’clock. Removal on Saturday morning at 10.45 o’clock to arrive at St. Conleth’s Parish Church, Newbridge for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock with burial afterwards in St. Conleth’s Cemetery.

Julia (Ciss) Horan (née Carroll)
1 Church View, Portarlington, Laois/Portlaoise, Laois

Formerly The New Road, Portlaoise. Peacefully at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Loving wife of the late Joe. Deeply regretted by her loving daughters Sheila, Elizabeth, Sharon and Josie, brother Peter, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Philip, Meryvn and John, especially her niece Catherine Lawlor and her husband Pat, her nephew Pad Kearney and his wife Ber, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Friday from 5:30pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Saturday at 10:20am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

Sister Columbanus (Margaret) Kyne
Presentation Sisters, Mountmellick, Laois/Moycullen, Galway

Died, peacefully, on October 16th, at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Predeceased by her parents Owen and Bridget, brothers Eugene, Michael and Peter. Deeply regretted by her sister Kitty Dowling (Lord Edward Street, Mountmellick), her nieces and nephews, nieces-in-law, nephews-in-law, grandnieces, grandnephews, The Presentation Sisters Mountmellick and the North East Province and all her extended family and friends.

Reposing at Presentation Convent, Mountmellick, on Friday 18th of October from 2pm. Prayers at 5.30pm followed by removal to St Joseph’s Parish Church, Mountmellick, arriving at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am, followed by burial afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Mountmellick.

Dublin Rd, Portlaoise, Laois

Culleton, ‘Brittas Lodge’, Dublin Rd, Portlaoise and late of Winsdor, Camross and Brittas, Clonaslee, 10th October 2019. Suddenly, in Lanzarote. Kevin, dearly loved husband to Gemma (nee Doran), cherished dad to Aibhe, Kevin, Eve and John, adoring grandfather to Aoife. Deeply regretted by his loving family, Gearoid (fiancé to Aibhe), Keith (partner to Eve), brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

On Saturday reposing from 3 pm with rosary at 8pm. Again on Sunday reposing from 3 pm with rosary at 8pm. On Monday, Removal from his residence at 11.30 am to aririve at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon Requiem Mass.

Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. House private on Monday morning please. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to The Shoebox appeal.

Teresa Burke
Borris Rd, Portlaoise, Laois

Burke, Borris Rd., Portaoise and late of Burnwood, Clonad, October 16th 2019. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. At Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home. Teresa, daughter of the late Edward and Margaret. Predeceased by her brothers Michael and Patrick and sister Bernadette (USA). Deeply regretted by her brother Eamonn, sisters Patricia and Brid, and Sr Marilyn (USA), sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, aunt, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home, Portlaoise on Friday evening, from 6.30pm with rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday to arrive at St. Fintan’s Church, Raheen for 10.30am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

JP (John Patrick) O’Mara
Sampsonscourt, Ballinakill, Laois

JP died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Margaret, son Brendan, daughters Kay, Denise and Marie, brother Jerry, sisters Helen, Marie, Margaret, Catherine, Anne and Deirdre, aunt Eileen, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home (eircode: R32 AY 70) from 3 o’clock on Tuesday with Rosary at 8 o’clock. Removal at 10.30 on Wednesday morning to St. Bridgid’s Church, Ballinakill for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St. Brigid’s Cemetery. House private on Wednesday morning please.

Josie Dwyer (née Breslin)
Ironmills, Ballinakill, Laois

Josie died in the loving care of the Matron and Staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget. Beloved wife of the late Jimmy and much loved mother of Jim, Ned, Catherine and Mary. Sadly missed by her loving family, daughters in law Nuala and Marie, sons in law Seamus and John, cherished grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence in Ironmills, Ballinakill(R32 YOC9) from 12 noon on Sunday and Rosary at 7pm. Removal at 7.30pm to St. Brigid’s Church, Ballinakill, arriving at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am, followed by burial in St. Brigid’s Cemetery.
