Strong second half sees Stradbally Parish Gaels secure U-15 ‘B’ Championship

Stradbally Parish Gaels are U-15 ‘B’ champions after a superb victory over neighbours Park-Ratheniska/ Spink on Saturday afternoon in the Laois Centre of Excellence.

A strong second-half performance for Stradbally Parish Gaels proved the difference as they won well in the end.

Brian Duggan opened the scoring with a superb score before Cian Nolan followed suit and fired over another beautiful score. Duggan pointed another super score as Park-Rathenisk/Spink got off to a great start.

This however would be their last score in the game as Stradbally Parish Gaels held them scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Stradbally Parish Gaels finally got off the mark after 25 minutes as Conor Fitzpatrick fired over from play.

Conor Buggie pointed superbly shortly after as the first-half drew to a close with a point  between the two teams.

Enda Shortall opened the second-half’s scoring to level the game before Fitzpatrick fired over a free.

Stradbally Parish Gaels were dominating all over the pitch as Buggie set up Ronan Creery to fire over the bar.

Buggie got his second point of the game shortly after before Stradbally Parish Gaels went four points up courtesy of a Fitzpatrick free.

Creery turned provider after scoring beforehand as he set up Jake Darcy to split the posts.

Fitzpatrick was immaculate from frees as he pointed yet again.

Stradbally Parish Gaels got in for goal late on as James Devoy fired beyond Liam Kehoe in the Park-Ratheniska/ Spink net.

Fitzpatrick rounded off the victory with a  free as Stradbally Parish Gaels ran out convincing winners in the end.
