Laois family are back on our screens tonight in Ireland’s Fittest Family

The Mahers

There is €15,000 up for grabs and this Laois family are getting closer!

The Maher family are back on our screens tonight as they take on the next challenge in Ireland’s Fittest Family.

The Killeshin family will take on the ‘Quick Sand’ as seen in last week’s episode – and it looks like a leg burner!

The challenge sees the families climb the 20 metre sand dune in Strandhill, Co Sligo while also carrying two large life buoys behind them.

Nicholas, Fionn, Cara and Meave Maher are mentored by Cork camogie legend Anna Geary and are following in the footsteps of previous Laois families – The Mulhares, TheMcDonald’s.

Dad Nicholas is the oldest member of the team and he is very well known in GAA circles as he is currently a coach with the Killeshin senior football team.

He is joined by his three children Fionn, Meave and Cara.

All three are members of St Abban’s athletics club and Fionn, who is the oldest, is also part of the Killeshin senior football panel.

Meave and Cara, 19 and 18, are part of the successful St Abban’s ladies team who have claimed the National Premier Division title for the last two years running.

We can’t wait to watch them as they take on this grueling challenge tonight on RTE One at 6:30pm.
