Laois GAA has announced that it is adding two more award winners to its roll for this year.
Following the conclusion of the U-20 hurling championship at the weekend, Camross’s Eoin Gaughan has been chosen as Player of the Year.
The sharpshooter his nine points in the final win over Raheen Parish Gaels on Saturday and was the club’s main player throughout the competition.
It brings to an end a wonderful year for Gaughen who represented both the Laois seniors and U-20s this season.
He played for Eddie Brennan in a Joe McDonagh Cup campaign that saw Laois reign victorious and is unquestionably a big player for the future.
Meanwhile, Scoil Chriost Ri have been given a Special Recognition Award for their fantastic 2019.
Their senior team claimed South-Leinster, Leinster and then All-Ireland football glory in 2019.
For long periods of the first half it looked as through the senior ‘A’ trophy could be heading to Tipperary but a determined Scoil Chríost Rí’s battling mentality saw them finish out three point winners.
Both the school and Eoin will join the other 17 award winners at a ceremony in the Midlands Park Hotel on Friday November 29.
