Laois woman named ‘CEO of the Year’ at annual Businesswoman Awards

Lorraine Butler

This is a serious achievement.

Lorraine Butler from Rossmore, Killeshin, was named CEO of the Year at the annual Image Businesswoman of the Year Awards recently.

Having held senior positions in Sigmar and Eir, she is currently the Managing Director of CPM Ireland.

CPM is the Europe’s leader in Sales Outsourcing with 28 offices globally. Lorraine was nominated, shortlisted and won the CEO of the Year award at the prestigious awards, which were held in the Clayton Burlington Hotel in Dublin on Monday night November 25.

This year’s competition was fiercer than ever, with women from such a diverse range of businesses competing for the top prizes. In total there were 12 categories – with over 120 nominees.

Lorraine had huge support with her on the night from her husband Jeff, mother and father Mena and Tom Kelly, her six sisters, aunts, cousins, friends, her CPM team and CPM customers.

On beating off stiff competition from Aisling Teillard CEO Tandem HR Solutions, Caroline Dunlea Co-founder Core Optimisation, Gillian Horan CEO The Pudding, Nicola O’Neill Managing Director Harvest, and Sinéad McSweeney Managing Director Twitter Ireland, Melanie Morris MC described Lorraine as “a powerhouse who insists on best practice throughout her business”.

Melanie continued: “She is one of eight who lead and define strategy on a global scale and she heads up a team of over 1,000 in Ireland.

“She encourages growth within her organization and has eliminated any gender pay gaps and sits on a board that is 50/50 gender split.”

Lorraine was announced as winner to a rapturous applause from her many supporters.

She was gracious and humble in her acceptance speech noting she would never have achieved her successes without the support of her family, friends and CPM Team.
