Laois man organising fundraising quiz for volunteering trip to Zambia

Aidan Brennan

A young man Laois is holding a fundraising table quiz tonight ahead of a trip to Zambia in the summer of 2020.

The quiz will take place tonight at 8.30pm in Pedigree Corner. The cost for a team of four is €40.

St Joseph’s footballer Aidan Brennan will spend three weeks in Kabwe, Zambia in June 2020 on a volunteering project.

The main aim of the volunteering trip is to build a secondary school in order for the students from the primary school that are graduating to have access to second level education.

The group that Aidan is travelling with will also bring over some teaching supplies and resources that will assist them in the setting up of the school.

The school also accommodates 20 orphaned/abandoned boys who live in a shelter on the campus 365 days a year.

Some of the money raised will go towards the day to day running of the shelter to insure the boys have a sustainable accommodation going forward.

At tonight’s quiz, there will also be raffle prizes including:

1st – 2x Leinster Hurling final tickets
2nd – 2x Leinster Football final tickets
3rd – A signed Laois Jersey
And lots more
