In Pictures: Hundreds brave the cold to turn out for The Great Heath Run 2020

It was a frosty and cold morning in Laois yesterday but it didn’t stop hundreds from taking part in the annual Great Heath Run.

People had the option to take part in a 10km run or a 5km run and supporters cheered from the sidelines as always.

As always there was a great atmosphere and people of all ages turned out to take part in the race.

The Great Heath run is a well-established one and has always proved a popular start to the new year.

A huge number of helpers from the Heath GAA were on hand to make sure the event ran smoothly.

Results are as follows:

Ladies 10K:
1st – Laura Mooney
2nd – Hannah Carroll
3rd – Breda McDonald

Ladies 5K:
1st – Lisa Sweeney
2nd – Kate Connolly
3rd – Stephanie Bergin

Men 10K:
1st – Cian McDonald
2nd- Pauric Ennis
3rd – Andrew O’Brien

Men 5K:
1st – Oisin Jago
2nd – Alan O’Brien
3rd – Paul McDonagh
