LIVE BLOG: Laois footballers take on Clare in key clash in Ennis

Laois senior footballers

After picking up three points in their first three games, the Laois footballers have made the trip to Ennis today where they take on Clare in Cusack Park.

Laois sit in mid table but the tight nature of the Allianz Football League Division 2 means they are just one point of the three teams who lead the way on four points and just one above the three teams who are on two.

One of those on two points are today’s opponents Clare, who have lost their two away games – to Westmeath and Roscommon – but who beat Kildare in their last home game three weeks ago.

Laois have mixed the good – a thrilling draw away to Roscommon and big win at home to Armagh – with the bad – last week’s 3-10 to 1-6 loss to home to Cavan.

This is Clare’s fourth successive season in Division 2 and they have beaten Laois in the counties two most recent meetings – the 2017 and 2016 All Ireland Qualifiers.

After today Laois are at home to Kildare next Saturday night (February 29) before two away games to Westmeath on March 15 and Fermanagh on March 22.

We will have minute-by-minute updates in our Live Blog below.

Stay with us throughout the afternoon for all the action.
