Hospital Committees and Colgan Sports team up to secure vital PPE for Portlaoise Hospital

The Portlaoise Hospital Action Committee, Friends of Portlaoise Hospital and Colgan Sports have come together to try secure vital Personal Protective Equipment.

Around 10,000 disposable gowns and 10,000 face masks have been sourced in China and they will cost around €20,000.

Donors have already come up with €12,500 and now they are hoping the public will get behind them to push them over the line.

They say: “The Portlaoise Hospital Action Committee and the Friends of Portlaoise Hospital have come together to raise funds for the purchase of badly needed PPE for the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.

“With your help, we can provide suitable protective equipment for the remarkable people who are working on the frontline of our local hospital.

“Our aim is to raise €20,000 for a batch of PPE equipment, which will save lives.

“Please, dig deep for these wonderful people who will look after us all at some point in our lives.”
