It is a very busy day on the local GAA scene – although there may not be a lot riding on some of the games.
There are seven adult games in total today but more than half of them are rather meaningless.
The action begins at 3.30pm in MW Hire O’Moore Park where Clough-Ballacolla face Castletown.
No matter what Castletown do, they will be in the relegation final against either Ballinakill or Camross in two weeks time.
If Clough-Ballacolla avoid defeat, they will be through to the semi finals. They could top the group if Rathdowney-Errill fail to beat Abbeyleix or if they defeat Castletown by 22 points more than Rathdowney-Errill beat Abbeyleix in a game that takes place tomorrow.
Rosenallis and Bottis-Kilcotton then throws in at the same venue at 5.30pm – with Alan Hartnett on duty for each.
5.30pm is also the time that four games in the Premier Intermediate and Intermediate championship take place.
The Harps face Mountrath in a dead rubber while Clonaslee take on Clonaslee in an effective quarter final of the Premier Intermediate at the same time.
While in the intermediate, Rathdowney-Errill face Ballypickas in a dead rubber and Trumera take on Clonad in what is also a quarter final with the winner joining the aforementioned Rathdowney-Errill.
The final game of the day throws in at 6pm and it is the Laois Ladies SFC playoff between St Brigid’s and Timahoe in Courtwood.
The winner of that game will go on to face Portlaoise in next weekend’s semi final.
