Gardai are investigating after an incident of ‘criminal damage’ occurred in Portlaoise last night.
Shortly after 11pm, a device, believed to be a pipe bomb, was thrown at a house in Hillview Drive.
A car outside of the house caught fire and Gardai were alerted to the incident.
Nobody was injured in the incident and Gardai say they are investigating.
LaoisToday understands that the incident is linked to an ongoing feud in the area.
They say: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred in Portlaosie at at 11.10pm on Tuesday March 2.
“In the course of this incident, a vehicle was lit on fire.
“No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing.”
