‘Delight’ as Laois shop sells €75,000 winning scratch card to lucky punter

One person is €75,000 richer after a Laois shop sold them a very lucky scratch card.

Downey’s Centra in Portlaoise sold the winning ticket recently.

And today, the National Lottery confirmed that the winning ticket was indeed valid.

While the identity of the lucky punter has not been revealed – we all hope that the winner is from Laois.

Anne Mahon, shop manager at Downey’s Centra, said that all in the store are delighted to have sold the lucky scratch card.

She said: “Everyone in the shop is absolutely delighted with the news.

“The last year has been hard on everyone so we all hope that this win gives that lucky person a boost.

“So it really is great that our shop could be the ones to make that sale.”
