Temperatures set to soar this week as 27 degrees predicted for the weekend

Sunshine

‏Have the sunglasses, shorts and barbeques at the ready – as this weekend is expected to be glorious.

Well in fact, from tomorrow really, we will notice an improvement in our weather that continues right through the weekend.

Temperatures of 27 degrees are predicted for this coming weekend – Mediterranean stuff.

Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather first predicted the glorious weather last week and his models are holding through.

With Met Eireann now sharing his enthusiasm and providing a very positive forecast.

Yesterday brought heavy rain in places and the weekend wasn’t too hectic either – but that is all set to change.

Temperatures already in the high teens across the country will climb to the low 20s later this week, but Met Eireann Eimear Flood tod the Irish Sun that they could soar up to the high 20s on Saturday and Sunday if the clouds stay away.

She said: “In terms of temperatures, high teens into low 20s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and gradually increasing.

“The warmest areas will most likely be the south and the east on those days where there is the best chance of any brighter breaks in the cloud.”

And it is from the weekend that things are poised to really heat up.

She said: “But as we head into Friday and the weekend, the warmer temperatures will be more widely distributed for around 20C to around 22C or 24C across Saturday and Sunday.

“And there is even a chance of it getting warmer so possibly reaching mid-20s, possibly reaching the high 20s if there are good long spells of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday.”
