Gardai investigating after two Laois restaurants broken into in recent night time raids

Two Laois restaurants have been the victims of crime in night time raids recently.

Both restaurants are located in Portlaoise and both break-ins occurred in the middle of the night.

On Saturday morning, Chill & Grill Restaurant was broken into at 3.20am.

The crime was reported to Gardai and crime scene investigators attended the scene on Railway Street where evidence was collected.

Investigating officers also gathered CCTV footage from the crime.

A second premises was then the victim of crime in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The Pantry, located on Main Street in Portlaoise, was broken into at around 3.45am with the raider gaining access through the front door.

Like in the incident with Chill & Grill, CCTV evidence has been gathered by Gardai and is being studied.

In this case, anyone who saw a man in dark clothing in the vicinity is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
