In Pictures: Dunamase College and Knockbeg College welcome new batch of First Years

There was great excitement in schools across the county recently as First Years began life at second level.

The incoming first years received a warm welcome from all the staff at Dunamase College.

There are seven classes and one AS class joining the already established Dunamase College.

The school has grown vastly in the past five years since it was first established in 2017.

The Aonad Lán-Ghaeilge welcomed two first year groups and are now in their own building, sharing with the Laois School of Music.

It’s a wonderful achievement to hear the Irish language spoken from morning ‘til evening, five days a week.

Coláiste Dhún Masc having firmly established their own Gaeltacht community in the centre of Portlaoise.

Meanwhile, First Years in Knockbeg were greeted by Principal Mr Carew, Vice Principal Mr Ronan, Year Head Mr Conway, and their Class teachers last week.

The students then met with their Meitheal Leaders, who gave them a tour of our campus.

A day of fun and activity followed in the glorious sunshine outside on our sports pitches.
