Christmas Stradbally

Christmas will officially begin in Stradbally this weekend as their lights will be switched on this Sunday.

As well as all that, the first Stradbally Outdoor Christmas Market will take place in the Court Square between 11am and 6pm on the day.

Local Christmas stalls, kids amusements, hot food stalls, teas and coffees, street performers, choirs, singers and dancers are all set to be there.

St Colman’s NS will be running a competition with a car parked up full of balloons and for €2, people can guess how many are inside to win a prize.

Over the last number of weekends, an army of volunteers have been spotted around the town putting up the lights.

The entire town will be illuminated from Sunday while the Christmas tree will also be switched on.

This will be done at 5pm by two students from Cosby NS and St Colman’s NS.

A spokesperson said: “Come down to Court Square on Sunday, December 5th from 11am-6pm for Stradbally Christmas Market.

“With a wide variety of food and crafts to suit all, the turning on of the town Christmas lights, family fun, amusements and the chance to meet Santa.
