Sadness in Mountmellick at the passing of the highly-regarded Larry O’Rourke

There is sadness in Mountmellick and surrounding areas at the death of Larry O’Rourke, who for many years worked as the manager in the town’s Glanbia outlet.

A community man and a family man, Larry was also a very popular visitor to St Vincent’s hospital in Mountmellick where he was a regular eucharistic minister and gave of his time freely and kindly to many patients.

Larry passed away, unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday last as Naas General Hospital.

He is predeceased by his son Joseph and mourned by his devoted wife Mary (nee Lawlor) and much loved father to Annette, Majella and Joseph.

Sadly missed by his son-in-laws James and John, his adored grandchildren Gary, Darren, Amy and Megan, extended family, all his relatives and many friends.

Larry’s funeral mass takes place at 10.30am on Monday to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick, arriving for 11am Requiem Mass.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Mass can be live streamed on https://www.mountmellickparish.ie/

Due to Covid-19 guidelines, social distancing must apply and face coverings must be worn.

Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Leukemia Unit Tullamore General Hospital.
