Garda appeal after ‘number of men’ enter occupied house in Laois and steal sum of cash

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward following an incident at a house in Laois on Monday March 7.

The incident occurred at Aghnaharna Drive in Portlaoise at around 8pm.

A number of men broke into the home which was occupied at the time of the crime.

They forced their way in and then stole a sum of cash before leaving.

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating a burglary that occurred at Aghnaharna Drive, Portlaoise

“A number of males entered a house at approximately 8pm on Monday March 7.

“The house was occupied at the time. A small sum of cash was stolen.

“Garda are appealing for information from anyone that was in the area between 6pm and 8.30pm and saw any suspicious persons or vehicles to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.

“We are also interested in anyone that was in the location that may have dashcam footage to make contact also.”
