The Laois hurlers are in action again today as they take on Kilkenny in the second game of the Leinster round robin championship.
Having lost narrowly to Dublin last weekend, Laois make the short trip to Nowlan Park to take on Brian Cody’s side where they will seek to record a first win over their neighbours since 1951.
It’s the first championship game between the counties since 1999 and Laois come in as massive outsiders and are listed as 11/1 outsiders by the bookies.
The Laois case hasn’t been helped by the loss of captain Podge Delaney and Ross King to injury, with Stephen Maher, Willie Dunphy, Ben Conroy and Diarmuid Conway already out.
But this group of Laois hurlers are a resilient bunch and will be looking to put it up to their more illustrious rivals.
After this evening’s game Laois are back in championship action again next Sunday, May 1, when they host Wexford in O’Moore Park.
They’ll then have a week off before hosting Galway and then Westmeath on successive Saturdays.
Throw in for this evening’s game is at 5.30pm and you can follow the action minute-by-minute on our Live Blog below.
