Two Laois schools all set to perform their musicals – Annie and the Wizard of Oz

Two Laois secondary schools are gearing up for musicals that are taking place in the coming weeks.

Heywood Community School are putting on a performance of Annie while Dunamase College are doing Wizard of Oz.

Heywood’s musical is up first with performances tonight, Wednesday November 23, and Thursday November 24.

Annie will be on in the school hall in Heywood Community School at 7.30pm each night.

The show is co-directed by teachers Ms Julianne Woods and Ms Afra O’Malley.

Tickets are €12 for adults and €10 for students or OAPs. There is also a family ticket, two adults and two children, for €35.

Tickets are available from the school office or can be availed of on the door on each night.

In Dunamase College in Portlaoise, the Transition Year students are set to take to the stage.

Their production of “The Wizard of Oz” will be taking place on December 14 and 15 in the Dunamaise Arts Centre.

There is a matinee show at 10.30am on December 14 with two shows at 7.30pm each night.
