Laois Ladies footballers confirm captain and vice-captain ahead of 2023 season

The Laois Ladies football team have confirmed their captain and vice-captain ahead of the 2023 season.

Manager Donie Brennan has confirmed that Portlaoise’s Ellen Healy will skipper the team this season.

One of the panel’s longest serving members, she takes over from Aimee Kelly of St Conleth’s.

While manager Brennan has also announced that Ballyroan defender Clodagh Dunne will be the vice-captain.

Laois will begin their campaign on Sunday at home (venue TBC) to Monaghan in Round 1 of the league.

Laois reached the semi finals of Division 2 last year and will be hoping to make a positive start this term too.

Laois will also host Tyrone and Cavan with away ties against Westmeath, Tipperary, Armagh and Roscommon also.

After that, Laois will face into a Leinster Senior championship with games against Meath and Dublin before then taking part in the All-Ireland series.
