Two Laois footballers have won honours at this morning’s John West National Feile Skills Competition which took place in Abbotstown.
St Joseph’s Oisin Hooney claimed first place thanks a stunning performance in the tourament which saw him beat off opponents from all over the country.
This victory caps what has been an amazing week for the teenager.
Just last weekend he claimed a bronze medal for Knockbeg College in the All-Ireland 800m Minor Boys final in Tullamore.
However, he went two better in Dublin this morning to claim the gold medal this time.
Before all of that, Orla Hennessy finished second in the girls competition – claiming the silver medal.
The classy forward has already tasted success this year as she was a key player for Timahoe Ladies side who were crowned Laois Feile champions for the first time ever a few months ago.
Orla and the rest of her team will go on to represent Laois at the Feile competition in Cavan later this month.
Congratulations to both!
