Planning permission sought for 12 new homes in Ballylinan

Building site

De Bhal Construction have submitted a planning application to construct 12 new homes in Ballylinan.

The proposed development will take place at Doirin Alainn in the village.

This consists of eight 3-bed, semi-detached, two storey houses in four blocks, with each block being a pair of semi-detached houses.

And also four 2-bed, two storey houses in one terraced block.

The news of the new development comes a few days after it was decided to increase Local Property Tax by 10 per cent.

The Fianna Fail and Fine Gael members of the council voted in favour of the increase of the tax, which will provide an extra €492,000 for funding across the council.

The increase will see the majority of homeowners pay an extra €9 per year, or 75 cent per month.
