Timahoe GAA Club  have made a very generous donation to a local school.

Yesterday morning, they presented a cheque for €1,541 to Ms Dooley and Ms Mulhare in aid of Nascoil Kantara early intervention center.

This will help them continue the wonderful work they are doing with children.

The money was raised from a match played on St Stephen’s Day in the football field, which was organised by the intermediate football management and all players.

Naiscoil Kantara early intervention pre-school unit, Timahoe, caters for children with autism from around the county.

The unit looks after children aged three to five. It takes in 12 students annually – two classes of six.

Timahoe chairman Michael Miller said: “They do brilliant work in Naiscoil Kantara and it was brilliant to be able to give them something back.

“So hopefully they will benefit from this small gesture that we have made.”
