Cash and jewellery stolen in local buglaries

Jewellery and cash were stolen in a number of buglaries across Laois yesterday.

Houses were burgled in Ballacolla and Stradbally in the incidents, during which the items were stolen.

Gardaí believe the burglaries occurred between 8 am and 9pm on Thursday, June 14.

An appeal has been made to members of the public to report any suspicious activity they see immediately to gardaí.

Meanwhile, there was also a burglary overnight at a local NCT centre.

The NCT centre on the Portarlington Road in Tullamore was targeted.

Information is being sought from the public on the incident. Anyone who may have seen any suspicous activity at the NCT Centre – which is across the road from the Tesco filling station in Tullamore – between 1.30 and 3 am is asked to contact gardaí.

Gardaí and the property owners are currently establishing what property was stolen in this incident.
