In Pictures: Tobar an Léinn raise their Green Flag with pride

The rain just about managed to stay off as Tobar an Léinn primary school in Raheen raised their fifth Green School Flag.

The flag for biodiversity was raised in the presence of pupils, staff, local councillor John John Joe Fennelly, parents and invited guests.

Co-ordinator of the Green Schools committee Ms Póilín Ní Leathlobhair was thanked by principal Niamh Campion for all the hard work she and the Green Schools Committee put in to receiving their fifth flag.

Despite being a relatively small school, Tobar an Léinn is a hive of activity. The 110 pupil school is involved in Active Schools, debating and even learning how to code computers.

Debating for a very special cause

Next week Tobar an Léinn are holding their final debate of the year in memory of a very special person who was involved in the school.

The late Judy Walsh was a teacher in the school who passed away from cancer last year. All the children are getting their speech and presenting skills ready as they mark the day remembering thier late teacher.
