Gardai appeal for information following hit and run in Portlaoise

Portlaoise Gardai are making an appeal for information following a hit and run in the tow on Monday of this week.

“At around 1pm on James Fintan Lalor Avenue in Portlaoise a collision between a car and bicycle took place.

“(The) vehicle failed to stop,” said Sergeant Graham Kavanagh, Laois-Offaly Crime Prevention Officer.

“We are looking for anyone who was in the area at that time and may have witnessed it. Also looking for anyone in the area who may have dash cameras.”

The vehicle is described as a dark saloon. The cyclist – a male in his 50s – has minor injuries to the right side of his body.”
