In Pictures: Graiguecullen 5K/10K race a huge success

What an event this was.

The streets around Graiguecullen were thronged with athletes on Sunday as the annual Graiguecullen Race took place.

This year organisers added a 10k element to the race and that was extremely well received.

A total of 299 runners took on the 5km course with Mick Kelly coming home first followed by, Brish O Brien, James Hamm, Rory Morrissey Mountmellick and Ken Archeold St. L. O’Toole A.C.

The first woman home was Monica Corcoran and she was followed in by Niamh Geraghty.

The Junior Men’s race was won by Oughavel AC’s Billy Ramsbottom while Maire Deevy of St Laurence-O’Toole’s won the Junior Women’s.

60 runners took on the 10km course with James McAssey of St Laurence O’Toole’s coming home first followed by clubmate Brian Kirwan.

Aisling O’Connor of Edenderry AC came third and she was the leading woman overall.
