Rathdowney-Errill GAA set to host annual Golf Classic

Rathdowney-Errill GAA are set to host their annual Golf Classic this weekend.

The picturesque surroundings of Rathdowney Golf Course will host the 2019 Golf Classic on Friday May 24 and Saturday May 25.

On Friday they will begin tee times at 10am to 1pm and then from 3pm to 5.30pm.

On Saturday the golf begins at 9am to 12.45pm and then from 2.40pm to 5.30pm.

Last year, a total of forty-five teams took part, some travelling from as far away as Tramore, Clare, Dublin and Galway raising much needed funds towards the future development and promotion of GAA in Rathdowney-Errill.

After an exciting two days play it was the MW Hire Group team of Mattie Walsh, Billy Fitzpatrick, JJ Tobin and Joe Costello who claimed the top prize in Category 1.

There were also plenty of teams made up from non-regular golfers, some showing a natural ability for the game, with the winning prize going to Brian “BB” Bowe, David McKelvey, Brian Campion and Jimmy Corrigan.

On behalf of the club, they would also like to take this opportunity to thank their main sponsor “Flynn’s Medical Hall” and all the other companies and individuals for making the event such a wonderful occasion.

Teams of four cost €100. For time sheets contact Timmy Williams on 087 2885249.
