Young GAA fans came in their droves to Ballacolla to get the chance to be taught all the tricks of the trade by their hurling and camogie idols this week – and received a visit from six senior hurlers.
The Clough-Ballacolla GAA club is still riveting in the success of the Laois senior hurlers, with four members of the club involved on the panel.
Stephen Maher, Stephen Bergin, Willie Dunphy and Lee Cleere were all involved in the Laois team who collected the Joe McDonagh trophy and reached the All-Ireland quarter-final.
They were joined by Aaron Dunphy and Mark Kavanagh at the Ballacolla summer camp.
Their influence is clearly rubbing off on the young children in the club, even the enthusiasm shown at the Cúl camp.
