In Pictures: All smiles as St Fergal’s Rathdowney students collect their results

Continuing our tour of Laois secondary schools are the county, we paid a visit to St Fergal’s Rathdowney today.

We were on the tail-end of the crowds as they collected their Leaving Cert results in Rathdowney.

Among those collecting their results was the Laois teenager who earned a top award for not missing a day of school in 13 years.

Evan Treacy received the prestigious accolade at the school’s awards night in June.

The Leaving Cert student remained modest about his exemplary record, owing the credit to thankfully never picking up a serious illness, and his mother Karen encouraging him to always lace up his boots and go in!
