Portlaoise GAA host Race Night and celebrate recent achievements this weekend

Portlaoise kitman Brendan 'Sonny' Keogh celebrates with players Kieran Lillis, left, and Frank Flanagan following their side's victory in the AIB Leinster GAA Football Senior Club Championship quarter-final match between Moorefield and Portlaoise

It was a dramatic weekend for Portlaoise GAA but after settling down and looking forward to the Leinster semi-final, it’s time for a fundraiser.

The club are hosting their Race Night on Sunday, November 17.

The Race Night will take place in Lily’s Bar at 7pm and is promised to be a night of great fun.

Celebrations for Portlaoise’s three in-a-row county football titles are on the agenda and there is no doubt their recent win over Wicklow’s St Pat’s will also have to be celebrated.

The senior football team had a dramatic weekend as their Leinster quarter-final fate was decided through penalties after extra time in Aughrim.

Craig Rogers was the man who sent the side through to the semi-final after the last penalty came off his right boot.

The semi-final will see them take one Carlow champions Éire Óg and will be shown on RTÉ on Saturday, November 23 at 7pm.

All are welcome to join the celebrations.
