Moment in Time: Great photos from Ballylinan NS play in 2011

There’s a great tradition of dramatic productions in the Ballylinan area, one that goes back a long number of years in the wider community.

Their hugely popular pantomime in January and their hugely impressive and professional passion play at Easter time always go down very well.

And it seems the tradition is being passed on to the next generation.

Our weekly trawl through the wonderful Alf Harvey archives always throws up some absolutely cracking photos and this week was no different as we browsed through his 2013 files.

The students of Ballylinan NS put on a production of Aladdin in the local St Anne’s Hall, and the photos six years on will be sure to bring memories flooding back for those involved.

Principal Fran Moloney, who has since retired, along with producers Ann Sourke, Paula Connolly and Bernie Dunne oversaw the school’s efforts and the well cast and well produced performance is reflected in the photos.

Alf captured everyone from the programme sellers to the citizens and soldiers, the two impressive chorus groups and the elves,
