Fundraiser launched for family of late Laois man following tragic passing

A fundraiser has been launched for the family of a young Laois man following his tragic passing.

On Saturday, Gardaí launched a search for the whereabouts of 21-year-old Martin Cermak.

Mr Cermak was reported missing from the Esker Hills area of Portlaoise since the morning of Friday March 19.

But Gardai confirmed they had located a body in the course of their investigation and are treating the incident as a ‘personal tragedy’.

Following the sad news, a fundraiser has been launched in the hopes that Martin’s family can give him the best funeral possible.

Dominica Balogova is organising the fundraising appeal on behalf of the family.

She said: “I’m fundraising for Martin’s family so that we can let Martin go in the best way possible.”
