In Pictures: Hopes for a magical weekend as students in Clough and Ballacolla schools gear up for finals

It will be a massive week for everyone involved in Clough-Ballacolla as they will take part in four county finals over the next eight days.

The Junior Bs get the action underway this evening as they take on Rosenallis in the Centre of Excellence.

Saturday will be the turn of the Intermediates who will face Mountmellick in that final.

They reached this stage last year where they were beaten by Trumera – and will be hoping to go one step further this time.

Then on Sunday, the first team will take on Camross in the Senior hurling final at 4pm.

Declan Laffan’s charges are heading for their third straight title and their 15th consecutive win.

The last final takes place on Friday week as Clough-Ballacolla take on The Harps in the Minor decider.

With all of that going on, it is naturally a very exciting time for everyone involved.

And children are no different – as we found out following a trip to the local primary schools today.

Clough National School and St Pius X National School Ballacolla were awash with blue and yellow for our visit.
